Human Dignity

We Believe: As creatures of God, every human life has a sacred dignity that must be respected and protected.

Scripture Tells Us: The parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us that you should put aside your differences and help those who are in need of help. The Samaritan did not think about the race or the religion of the man; he just saw a man who needed help.

Questions for Consideration:

  • Do we pray for the sanctity of life and promote causes protective of life from conception to natural death?
  • Does skin color, religion, or national origin dictate how we see one another?
  • Does status of occupation, position, wealth, etc., challenge how we respect one another?
  • Do we act compassionately for those in poverty, homelessness, the sick and the lonely?

“Human dignity is the same for all human beings: when I trample on the dignity of another, I am trampling on my own.” – Pope Francis
